The Africa 9s will be held in Polokwane, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

Limpopo is the northernmost province of South Africa. It is named after the Limpopo River, which forms the province’s western and northern borders.

Polokwane is the capital of the Limpopo Province. It is South Africa’s largest urban centre north of Gauteng, and was one of the host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Originally known as Pietersburg, the city’s name was changed to Polokwane in 2002 (Sotho: “Place of Safety”).

Polokwane has an international airport and major road and railway connections with the South Africa–Zimbabwe border (north) and with Johannesburg.
