At the time of the 1901 Census, there were 108 Egypt-born people living in Australia and by 1947 this number increased to 803. By 1954, there were more than 8000 Egypt-born people living in Australia.

The 2016 Census recorded 39,779 Egypt-born people in Australia. New South Wales had the largest number with 19,724 followed by Victoria (13,282), Queensland (2,449) and Western Australia (2,211).
