In 2020, Australia and Kenya celebrated 55 years of bilateral relations. Australia maintains a High Commission in Nairobi. Kenya is represented in Australia by a High Commissioner based in Canberra.
The 2016 Census noted there are 17,652 Kenya-born people in Australia. Western Australia had the largest number with 5,421 followed by Victoria (3,860), New South Wales (3,197) and Queensland (2,690).
